I've Found It!

Hi dearies,

In my previous post I had told you guys that I lost 3 makeup items right? I think you can guess their status now right? Yes, they have been found! The Bobbi Brown glitter eyeshadow in Ballet and bright pink blush were together in a palette. Turned out that they were grouped together with the rest of my small drugstore palettes. I totally overlooked them in that storage space for some reason and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it 2 weeks ago. Happy doesn't even begin to express how I felt. Oh, I love these 2 items so much!

My Bobbi Brown Ballet eye shadow and bright pink blush (forgot the name) as well as my MAC black eye liner pencil (also forgot the name)

Last night I found my MAC eye liner pencil. I was looking for my gel liner brush and since my makeup brush holder was packed with brushes, I had to take a hand full of them out to look at the brushes one by one. Imagine my pleasant surprise at seeing my MAC eye liner pencil sitting there among the brushes left in the holder. Yaaayyyy!!  This black liner pencil may not be the best cause it's a bit stiff so it's not worth the price but I did feel uneasy all these while knowing that some makeup items I bought were missing. Now that my makeup collection is complete again, I am at peace. Hehehe..

Have you ever lost a loved makeup item? Did you ever found it?

Love,
Phoebe

I Lost My Makeup!

Hi all,
The past few weeks I have been looking high and low for 3 of my makeup items that seem to have gone missing. I just don't know where they went! It's driving me nuts. All of them are high end products (read: expensive)no less which just fuels my infuration even more. The 1st one is Bobbi Brown's Ballet eye shadow which is limited edition! Argh! It's such a pretty pink glittery color which I use to pat over my lids when I wear warm eye colors to add a bit of coolness and balance things out.

Next is a bright pink blush also by Bobbi Brown. I've had it for only a year. So sakit hati okay. I put it and Ballet together in Bobbi Brown's customizable palette so now both are lost... The last item is my Mac Black eye liner pencil which I have also forgotten the name of. Sigh.. I seem to remember using the Ballet eye shadow for my SH interview. I was hoping to have missplaced it in the car but I have searched to no avail. The car had also been washed and vacuumed on the inside and nothing was found. Takkan la lelaki yang cuci tu keta pula pigi ambil kan?

The thing is, I can't remember whether I had immediately taken all these items out of my makeup bag after coming home from my interview or if I had left it in my handbag for a few days. Meaning they could have been in my handbag when I went to work the next day or more. Could it have fallen out of my bag without me realizing it, or worse, did someone took it? Hai, entah lah..

I hope, really hope that it is simply a matter of misplacement and not loss. Sedih saya oh.. Huhuhu..

Love,
Phoebe

Makeup Review: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup

Hi all,
Today I will  be writing a review on Revlon's new Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup. Revlon claims that this baby has a mousse-like texture that feels like silk on the skin and that it's time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. Now keep in mind that I have only used this once but in such a challenging environment that I feel it validates a review.

When I first swatched it on my jaw line, I instantly fell in love with this foundation. It just glides on my skin effortlessly. I do feel a bit disappointed with the extremely limited color selection. There are only four colors with 3 looking almost the same in the pot and 1 noticeably dark shade.Upon closer inspection there is 1 dark and light shade respectively and 2 medium shades. While I don't remember the names for the light and dark colors (the latter might be Caramel), the medium ones are Warm Golden and Medium Beige with the former being a darker tone of medium and the latter, a lighter tone of medium.

I chose Medium Beige but in truth, Medium Beige is a bit lighter and Warm Golden is a bit darker than my skin tone. I think a shade between the 2 mediums would have suited me perfectly. Also, I must comment that the Medium Beige for the Colorstay range is not the same as the Medium Beige for the Photoready range. Photoready's is too dark for my skin tone. Just keep that in mind when you're selecting your shade for this product.

It is very rare for me to wear a new product out immediately after buying because I don't know how it would end up at the end of the day. I never want to risk ending up with smudges or creasing on my lids or face. However, I was so impressed by the swatch I made in the store that I trusted this foundation enough to wear it on the day that I was to sign my appointment letter at SH. So here are my findings:

Love:
1. It's easy to apply, even with a brush.
2. Economical. A little goes a long way especially when using one's fingers.
3. It offers full coverage. I hardly needed concealer after putting this on.
4. Long lasting. I sweated and sweltered in the heat and it didn't melt or slide off me. Neither did it faded after 10 hours of wear.
5. You can skip powder. It felt smooth on my skin even without powder. It became ever so slightly sticky when I was in the heat but when I'm back in a cool environment, it felt smooth and silky again.

You will need an oil based makeup remover to remove this foundation off your skin though since it is long wearing and full coverage. Double cleansing is best. That's not a problem for me so my final verdict would be that I love, love, love it!

I hope you find this review helpful. Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure. Cheers!

The foundation is contained in a heavy glass tub.

My Shade

The shade name is also on the lid..

A plastic cover thingy over the foundation to protect the cap..

Tadaaa.... Uber creamy texture..

Cyclops..

Hello there..
I love creating different looks and playing with makeup but I absolutely hate cleaning up my face after playtime is over. Because of that I would take a 'shortcut' by creating a different look for each eye instead of doing both eyes with the same look. For example I would do a neutral day time look on my right eye and a blue smokey look on my left eye. I thought I was being clever but it backfired on me because now I have trouble when it comes to balancing out my shadows on both eyes when I do my makeup.

This is especially troublesome to me in the morning, when I am in such a rush to get ready. There are times when I would like to use color (green, blue, etc) but while one eye looks nice, the other looks sloppy. Most of the time I end up washing my face and going to work with no makeup on. Sometimes I would even be forced to skip breakfast because of the time I wasted trying to repair the other eye. Sigh..

By the way, I have been thinking about taking up makeup courses and after surveying for a while I have finally found a really good bargain. It's still RM3.8K but at least it includes makeup, box and tools. Most of the other makeup courses are RM4K at least and that is EXCLUDING tools, makeup and makeup box. The course I am planning to take up also have the option of getting original MAC cosmetics package or drugstore cosmetics (brands like Maybeline, Revlon, etc) package. I love that concept! I'll need to save up for the course though. Crossing my fingers that I will be able to register by end of the year.

This is all for now friends. If you have any tips on how to balance out your eye makeup please do not hesitate to share. Cheers!

Discovering New Makeup Brands..

Hello Dearies..
Until just recently, I have always thought that Skinfood and The Face Shop are the only Korean brand of makeup available here in Sabah. Turns out I was wrong! I was window shopping a few days ago at Suria Sabah when I suddenly saw a shop with a neon purple sign that displays the name:

Ain't that just the cutest? The outline of the witch on a flying broom attracted me enough to enter the shop. It has a lot of BB cream products, from BB creams for beginners...

to their revolusionary (or so they claim) roller BB cream..

As a makeup junkie with a compulsion for eye shadows in various formula however, what reeled me in was this..

Their Aqua Petit Jelly eye color! It's the first time that I have ever heard of an eye color in jelly form and so I am super, super excited. I swatched it in the shop and the shimmery white is by far my fave. The texture is light and cooling. Am definitely interested!

Another (two, actually) product that caught my eye was their gel eye liner in fantastic and unique colors..

A matte teal color...

Hot pink!

I don't have anything like these colors and I can definitely see myself wearing these colors both as liners and as a base for my powder shadows especially the hot pink. Me loves!

Another brand that I discovered was Tony Moly. This brand not only carries cosmetics but also skin care and my, do they make their skin care fun! Check out these pics:

Ice Queen Snow White Sleeping Cream

Peach Anti-Aging Hand Cream

 Egg Pore Series

Tomatox Magic White Mask

Cool huh? But, but, but.. While the skin care is fun and all, it would be remiss of me as a cosmetoholic (a made up word) if I fail to mention some of their makeup products.. So have a looksie..

 Waterproof eye shadow..

Baked Eye Shadow Duo and Gel Liner

Tony Tint in Red Apple and Cherry Pink.

Shimmer Lover Partylover

The Shimmer Lover Partylover  (which comes in various shades) looks like a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick doesn't it? They have lots, lots more products with cute (duh!) packaging. Come to Suria to check out Holika Holika and Tony Moly (which is also available at City Mall) if you haven't already.
