Hi dear Readers..
Today I went shopping for eyeshadow and bought 7 eyeshadows.. One is a pencil shadow by Maybeline, 3 powder shadows by elianto and 3 powder eyeshadows from The Body Shop..
So lets start with the Maybelline's pencil shadow. I bought it in a gold color and the price was RM22++ but after discount I got it for RM20.60. It comes in a few colors which are brown/bronze, gold, light purple, pink, and green. I chose gold color as it's a versatile. It can be used as a base color, a highlighter and on its own. I have yet to try it on my lids but I tried it on the back of my hand and its so pretty. Not only that, it lasts long and barely smudged. I tried wiping it off with a tissue but it won't come off so I'll definitely need to use a makeup remover. Brownie points for staying power.
The next one is from elianto. I bought three powder eyeshadow. One is a mildly glittery black color (Intense Black), a shimmery medium blue (Blue Water) and a soft powdery blue shimmer(Aqua Shine Blue). I used to shy away from vibrant colors like blue, green and such. Last weekend I went to a MAC counter at KLCC with my sister and the helpful girl at the counter helped me to put on a blue shade from one of their limited edition palletes and it was gorgeous! I'm an immediate fan. MAC is kinda pricey so I decided to look for a similar shade to it at a cheaper price elsewhere. Both of the blue elianto shadows are of creamy texture and highly pigmented. The black shadow has a kind of grainy texture and the color doesn't seem to be as intense.
Last but not least my 3 Bodyshop eyeshadows. These are three out of the four new eyeshadows in The Bodyshop. One is a super glittery dark green eyeshadow, another is a light green with gold shimmer in 44 and the final one is a delicate pink color in 40. These shadows are SUPER PRETTY and is highly pigmented. I can't wait to try it on.. I think the actual price is RM42/RM45 but since its new it is currently being sold at a promotional price of RM35 only until the 14th of August 2009. So be sure to check it out at The Bodyshop near you. The other color that I didn't buy is a greyish silvery color and is quite nice as well.
I'll be using these colors as soon as I can and will be giving you a review on it. Toodles..

My 1st Beauty Product Review..
Hello dear readers..
Gosh, I have been so busy that I had no time to update my blog.. I did this particular blog to give reviews to you about products and maybe a tip or two that I picked up along the way.. I'm not saying that I am a makeup guru or anything, I'm just doing this for fun and I hope that it will be usefull for those who would like to experiment with makeup but do not have the means to take the risk of buying cosmetics and finding out later that it is not suitable or as good as it claimed to be.
I haven't been able to do that yet so far so I'm going to start right now. Hehehe.. So my review for today is Maybelline's Volume Express Cat Eyes mascara. Out of four stars (1-poor, 2-fair, 3-good & 4-excellent) I would give it four stars. Why? The first reason is because this mascara has serious staying power. I have stubborn lashes so when I curl my lashes and apply other mascaras the curl doesn't last long. However with this mascara the curl in my lashes lasts the whole day..
How I found out about this makes a funny story. I had tried this mascara for the first time at night. I was super tired at that time and after trying on the mascara I laid down for a while and ended up sleeping until morning (This is NOT a good example to follow girls.. It was accidental.. Hehehe..). When I woke up and realised what happened I rushed to the mirror expecting my lashes to be hopelessly clumped or smeared from sleep. I was so amazed to find that my lashes held its wonderful separated and curled shape. It didn't clump or smeared one bit. I totally fell in love with it in that moment.
Aside from it's staying power it is also easy to use. The shape of the brush is like a comb and only on one side as opposed to the usual all around brush most mascaras have. This unique brush shape enables users to effortlessly comb the mascara throught their lashes and reach those 'hard -to-reach' places such as the lashes on the inner corners of the eye. Moreover, this mascara is very reasonably priced. It's only RM33.90 and can be bought at Watsons, Guardian, Sasa and generally any drugstore that sells Maybelline Cosmetics.
Another thing is, it is water proof. I used this mascara while watching the movie "He's Just Not That Into You" and cried in one of the scenes. I forgot all about my eye makeup and 'mopped' my eyes with a tissue like there's no tommorow. It was only when the movie was almost over that I cringed because I can only imagine how my eyes looked like from previous experiences. I rushed to the ladies and lo and behold! my eye makeup was neither smeared nor smudged. It was amazing!
Lastly, Maybelline's Volume Express Cat Eyes mascara is easy to clean off if you use a makeup remover. By the way, I know a lot of girls out there are using just facial toner or baby oil to remove their waterproof makeup. What I can say is that toner does not work too well to remove waterproof makeup. Any leftover makeup will result in infection which especially the eyes. Even if you don't get an infection the area around the eyes is very delicate so using toner there will dry out the skin. Its best to invest in a good eye & lip makeup remover.
So there's my review about Maybeline's Volume Express Cat Eyes mascara. I hope this information helps you in deciding whether to give this mascara a try or not.. Cheers!

Shoeaholic?
Dear readers,
I am currently out of Sabah and am having the time of my life shopping. I've mentiooned before that I have always been a makeup junkie. I've never really been obssessed with clothes, trendy accessories or shoes.. Especially not shoes. My recent (current actually) shopping trip however has made me fallen in love with footwear. I still don't have an eye for what looks good and what doesn't but one or two really did catch my eye. I am currently the proud owner of a pair of ballet flats, a pair of brown colored heels with gold ribbon details (for the office) and a strappy pair of purple platforms which incidentally matches the purple blouse i bought from Forever 21.
I also loved this white platform sandals made from straw (or so it seems.. Materials can be deceiving nowadays) at Charles & Keith. It somehow invokes the image of the beach, summer vacations and the bohemian look in my mind. It was pricey, RM120 give or take a few cents but it was gorgeous. If I didn't have to use my money to buy a few items that I needed I would definitely have bought it. Hahaha.. Boy is my mom goin to freak out when she sees the nuber of shoes that I have boufgt.. Oh dear.. Hehehe..
Well that's all for now folks. Until the next time, cheers!
Love,
Phoebe Pink_CHerry

A Confesssion of Sorts
Hi, my name is Phoebe and I simply LOVE make up. I can't seem to stop buying makeup. It has become kinda obsessive for me. My current fave 'affordable' makeup brand is The Body Shop. The eyshadows are gorgeous and everytime they have a 1-day only 25% sale for members I become like a little girl in a candy store. Even when I plan a few days prior to the sale on what I was only going to buy 2-3 select items, I end up buying 7 items or more despite taking deep breaths and chanting "just buy what you need, just buy what you need" over and over.
But then again, I dont need any of the products at The Body Shop. Everything in that store is for wants rather than need. Maybe that's why I love it so much. The price range is also such a tease. It's not so expensive that it would take you six months to save up for a single item but nor is it inexpensive enough so that you would be able to buy it in bulk. Its in the middle range leaning towards being expensive. You'd need to save for a month or so to buy it so to speak.
My current wish list from The Body Shop is the green glittery liquid eyeliner, their blusher brush (so dense and feels so good on the skin) and its mineral makeup range with foundation (or is it loose powder?), eyeshadow and blusher. The colors are so wonderful with a bit of glimmer. It brightens the face instantly. It plays in the back of my mind constantly and I know that I wouldn't be at peace until I get it. Hehehe..
Till the next time, au revoir..
